Sitecore Installer, Redirect Manager, Web part Framework and updates for modules

For this round of module watch we have added two cool modules to the Shared Source Library and a number of modules got updated with features and fixes.

The very cool Sitecore installer module enables you to install Sitecore with the modules you select by using a simple GUI. It is lightning fast as the contributor demonstrates in this YouTube video. You will have a clean installation of Sitecore up and running in no time.

The Redirect Manager as the module name suggest helps you keep track of the redirect links you have for you Sitecore items. The module integrates well with the Sitecore UI and as the screenshot suggest it is pretty simple to use.

Of the key features are automatic 301 record generation of historic links and manual record by right clicking or using the ribbon.

The Web Part Framework module got changed from a Free module to a Shared Source module. So if you want to have a look at the source code you are now able to do so.

The Advanced System Reporter module which provides you with a long list of reports to run got updated to version 1.4.2 with some bug fixes.

The News Mover module which was originally contributed by Sitecore legend John West was updated to version 2 by Alistair Deneys and Sean Kearney so that the module now supports multiple templates and some configurable sorting.

The Sitecore Powershell Console got updated to version 1.3 with a new feature so that standard fields will always be attached to items as scripted properties and a fix for the Remove-item commandlet.
